We needed something that would let one pet eat without the others getting involved. This does the job really well. We've used both dry and wet food in it and haven't had any issues. Simple idea, but it makes a big difference in a multi-pet home.
I was slightly worried about the moving lid because my cat can be nervous around new things. At first she was cautious, but after a little patience she started using it normally. Now she doesn't even seem to notice the lid opening.
My cat has to eat a different food from our other pets, which made leaving meals out difficult. This feeder has solved that nicely. I can put her food down and know that the other cat can't just walk over and eat it.
Registering the microchip was straightforward and I had it working pretty quickly. The lid opens when my cat comes close and closes once she walks away. Nothing complicated about using it day to day. Very happy with it so far.
Our older cat eats very slowly and the younger one would constantly try to steal from her bowl. This feeder gives her enough time to eat without being disturbed. It has honestly made feeding time much less stressful in our house.
I bought this mainly because my cat prefers wet food. The covered bowl is really handy and helps stop the food being left completely exposed. The feeder itself feels solid and my cat learned how it works much faster than I expected.
